The German accountancy profession is essentially subject to the following German regulations:

2. Code of ethics for the profession of public accountants and sworn auditors [Berufssatzung für Wirtschaftsprüfer und vereidigte Buchprüfer]

4. Regulation of professional liability insurance for public accountants [Wirtschaftsprüfer-Berufshaftpflichtversicherungs-verordnung]

The legal professional titles held by the ''Wirtschaftsprüfer (WP)' [public accountant], 'Steuerberater (StB)' [accountant/tax advisor] and "Rechtsanwalt (RA)' [lawyer] of PKF Deutschland GmbH were conferred in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Professional liability insurance
For the protection of its clients under sec. 54 WPO, sec. 67 StBerG and sec. 51 BRAO PKF Deutschland GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft maintains a professional liability insurance which covers the risks which may arise from the whole range of professional services provided by public accountants, tax advisors and lawyers. The insurance company is Versicherungsgemeinschaft für das wirtschaftliche Prüfungs- und Treuhandwesen, Dotzheimer Str. 23 in 65185 Wiesbaden. www.versicherungsstelle-wiesbaden.de. The insurance covers services rendered at least within territory of the European Union.
Avoidance of conflicts of interest
There are legal regulations providing for cooperation, conflicts of interest and the prohibition of exercising the profession. In order to avoid conflicts of interest PKF Deutschland GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft maintains a protected system for the exchange of information.
Code of ethics
The German law requires us to comply with a strict code of ethics. On a voluntary basis we committed ourselves to comply with the ethical code of the International Standard on Quality Control (ISQC1). Under the licence agreement PKF Deutschland GmbH, its shareholders and all members of the international PKF network are required to comply with ISQC 1. This standard is available in English at www.ifaq.org. Furthermore we meet the requirements of standard VO 1/2006, which is available in German at www.wpk.de.
Remuneration
The fee for our services is charged at hourly rates varying with the individual professional's qualification and experience. It is not possible to quote prices in general. Please contact us for a fee estimate.
